The Wynn Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in the process of replacing all the carpet in the casino. They are using the same carpet pattern. About a third of the casino was closed on Monday, December 16th. Crews were working hard on this massive project.
Wynn Las Vegas also welcomed back the sculpture of balloon flowers, “Tulips,” to its Plaza. The showpiece by artist, Jeff Koons, was previously displayed at the Wynn Resort from 2013 to 2016, but for the last three years was taking residency at Wynn Palace in Cotai, China.

Drained Hotel Pools in Las Vegas
There are several drained pools in Las Vegas during the winter months. VegasChanges.com got photos of three of them this past week. Caesars Palace Resort & Casino (closed), Luxor Hotel & Casino (one pool open), and Golden Nugget pools closed. The Golden Nugget is doing repairs to the slide that goes through the Shark Tank and the pool. It does not appear that they will close the Shark Tank, like they did in the past. They moved the sharks and fish to Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay in the past.
Caesars Palace is owned by Caesars Entertainment, the Luxor Hotel & Casino is owned by MGM Resorts International and the Golden Nugget is owned by Landry’s, Inc. Other pools are closed for the season, but some remain open. Contact the Resort and Casino to find out if the pools and spas are open.
New Restaurants coming to the Caesars Forum Shops

Caesars Forum Shops address: 3500 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
New Pedestrian Bridge over Las Vegas Strip Update
Construction continues on the new pedestrian bridge over the Las Vegas Strip from Park MGM to the Hard Rock Cafe. This bridge is needed because of the added foot traffic from T-Mobile Arena, Park Theater and nearby casinos.
The bridge is now expected to open in early 2020 because of utility conflicts tied to the escalators. Construction began in November 2018 and originally was expected to finish in July. The next pedestrian bridge is slated to connect the area in front of Bellagio to the area leading to Planet Hollywood Resort.
Additional plans call for bridges to stretch across Las Vegas Boulevard between Caesars Palace and the Linq, and at Resorts World Las Vegas, but those projects don’t have timelines. In 2020, they plan construction on four more pedestrian bridges crossing Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, on the far north end of the Strip.
Target being built on the Las Vegas Strip Update
Construction continues on the first Target Department Store being built on the Las Vegas Strip. It is located directly across from Park MGM. This project is moving fast and should open in late 2020. This will be a gold mine.
Target address: 3767 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
