Work has started in the front of Harrah’s Hotel and Casino to remove the Mardi Gras and Carnival theme. Work crews have added scaffolding to protect guests entering the casino while they remove the Jesters and the rest of the carnival facade from the outside of the casino.
Work started the second week of October. A clue that a change was coming was when they did a remodel of the Mardi Gras Tower. They renamed the remodeled rooms Valley Tower rooms. Harrah’s still has some rooms that have not been remodeled – still called Mardi Gras rooms.
Harrah’s Hotel and Casino is located on the “center” of the Las Vegas Strip. It opened in 1973 as the Holiday Casino that had a Riverboat theme and was the largest Holiday Inn in the world. In 1992, the Hotel Casino was re-branded Harrah’s Las Vegas and they changed to a Mardi Gras and Carnival theme. They currently have 2,677 rooms and suites in two towers.
They also added a new Center Strip Box Office next to Carnaval Court. Harrah’s Las Vegas is owned by Caesars Entertainment.
