Laughlin is a 90 minute car drive from Las Vegas, located in the far southern tip of Nevada. It is best known for its gaming, entertainment, and water recreation. The town is named for Don Laughlin. It is located directly across the Colorado River from the town of Bullhead City, Arizona.
Laughlin has over 10 casinos and resorts with over 10,000 hotel rooms, great dining and entertainment at much lower prices than Las Vegas. The Riverside Resort opened on August 2, 1966 and Don Laughlin wanted to call the community “Riverside” or “Casino” but the Post Office opted for Laughlin.
