Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino is located on the banks of the Colorado River, directly across from Bullhead City, Arizona. In 1964, Don Laughlin bought the southern tip of Nevada (informally called South Pointe).
The Riverside Resort opened on August 2, 1966, and he wanted to call the community “Riverside” or “Casino”, but the post office opted for Laughlin.
Don Laughlin died on October 22, 2023, at the age of 92. The Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino is now owned and operated by his family.
They have 1,352 rooms and suites in two hotel towers, with most rooms having a river view. The North Tower is primarily smoking, with the South Tower non-smoking. All rooms come with a flat-screen TV, coffee maker and mini-refrigerator.
The full-service 740-space RV Park is very popular with “snowbirds” during the winter months. It is pet friendly and has pull-through sites, dump station, pool, laundry and a free shuttle to the casino.
They have two pools that are both open year-round (weather permitting). The South Tower pool is for adults only and features a hot tub, fire pits, full bar and food service. The North Tower pool is located on the third floor and is family friendly.
Jean Jeffrey Salon and Day Spa offers a wide variety of treatments and is open daily, except Mondays. They also have a fitness center, business center, post office and gift shop.
They have almost 90,000 square-feet of gaming space with over 1,200 slot, keno and video poker machines. The casino pit has 35-table games, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Pai Gow Poker, Let It Ride, 3-Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and more.
They also have a 330-seat bingo hall with seven sessions daily (9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7:30pm and 11pm), 10-table non-smoking poker room and a 5,000 square-foot William Hill Race & Sports Book. The casino has both smoking and non-smoking sections and they use the King of Clubs loyalty card.
