Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort & Casino is located on the banks of the Colorado River, directly across from Bullhead City Arizona. Laughlin bought the southern tip of Nevada in 1964 (informally called South Pointe). The Riverside Resort opened on August 2, 1966 and he wanted to call the community "Riverside" or "Casino" but the Post Office opted for Laughlin.The Riverside has 1,405 rooms and suites as well as a full-service 740 space RV Park that is very popular with "Snowbirds" during the winter months. They added a brand new South Tower Pool for adults only. It is open from 8am to 10pm and the North Tower pool, located on the third floor is open from 10am to 10pm. They recently added the Jean Jeffrey Salon and Day Spa.
