There are many construction projects taking place on the Las Vegas Strip and in Downtown Las Vegas.  Some of these include Resorts World Las Vegas and Circa Resort & Casino being built from the ground-up. The Downtown Grand is adding a new hotel tower and The D Hotel & Casino has closed about 80% of the second floor casino for some major upgrades.

Target is preparing to open their first location on the Las Vegas Strip and construction is on-track at the 65,000 seat Allegiant Stadium, where the Las Vegas Raiders and the UNLV Rebels will play their home games.  Photos of these projects are posted below.

These are all developing stories.  Check back on VegasChanges.com for updates.

Resorts World Las Vegas

Resorts World Las Vegas continues construction on the $4.3 billion dollar project. This resort is taking the place of the failed Boyd Casinos Echelon Place that stopped construction in 2008. This is the site of the former Stardust Hotel and Casino.

It was scheduled to have 6,583 rooms in four towers. That has been scaled back to now have two towers and approx. 3,500 rooms and suites. They plan to open in the summer of 2021. It is owned by the Genting Group, based in Malaysia.

Target to open a ‘small-format’ store on the Las Vegas Strip.   The 20,000 square-foot store will be located north of the MGM Grand Hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard at the Showcase Mall.  It will be built in the space that formerly had a Smith & Wollensky Restaurant that closed in May 2017.

The new Target store is scheduled to open in early 2020 and will be built from the ground up.  From Target: “It will have an assortment of essential and beauty products, tourist merchandise, apparel and accessories for men and women, as well as a grocery selection of grab-and-go food, beverages, and snacks. The store will also feature order pickup, giving guests the option to purchase online and pick up in store within an hour.”
