The Venetian Resort & Casino is on the Las Vegas Strip that opened in 1999 and it has 4,049 suites. It has a Venice, Italy theme. It sits on the land that was the former Sands Hotel and Casino that was imploded in 1996. The Venetian is a luxury resort with one of the nicest pool complexes in Las Vegas.

On February 23, 2022 Apollo Global Management Inc. became the operator of The Venetian, Palazzo and The Venetian Convention & Expo Center.

The casino has 120,000-square-feet of gaming space with some of the latest slot and video poker machines. The casino pits have all the popular table games, including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, Caribbean Stud Poker, Crazy 4 Poker, Let It Ride Stud Poker, and more.

The high-limit table salon offers a comfortable retreat from The Venetian’s main casino floor. The space was designed with the most discriminating premium player in mind. They have a very nice Yahoo Sportsbook powered by William Hill. The Poker Room is one of the most popular in Las Vegas. Their loyalty program is Venetian Rewards.

There are several bars and lounges, including Sala 118 in the hotel lobby, Bellini Bar and Juliet Cocktail Room that can seat 240 guests and has dueling pianos and live entertainment weekends.

For nightlife there is the very popular TAO Nightclub that is open Thursday to Saturday. TAO Beach Dayclub is a 47,000-square-foot Asian-inspired tropical oasis that is open March to September. On November 3, 2023 Voltaire opened with residency shows and more. They also have The Summit Showroom and Venetian Theatre.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum opened in 1999, becoming the first Madame Tussauds venue to open in the United States. You can take a gondola ride inside the Grand Canal Shoppes or outside in the front of the casino. They also have PanIQ Escape Room & Lounge.

Sphere is a sphere-shaped music and entertainment arena, near the Las Vegas Strip and east of the Venetian Resort. The 18,600-seat auditorium opened on September 29, 2023 with U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere. It is the largest spherical building in the world at 875,000-square-feet.

The 875,000-square-foot, Grand Canal Shoppes is an upscale shopping mall with over 200 stores and restaurants. It has a recreation of St. Mark’s Square and much more.

Fun Fact: Carnell Johnson is nicknamed “Golden Pipes” for his signature style of belting out the national anthem before every Vegas Golden Knights home game at the T-Mobile Arena. But did you know that before he was singing in front of thousands of hockey fans, Johnson was making an impression on Las Vegas visitors as a gondolier at The Venetian Hotel & Casino.

Fun Fact 2: There is a plaque in front of the Venetian commemorating the Rat Pack. The footprints of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop are below the plaque. The five stars were headliners at the famed Copa Room inside the Sands Hotel. (A photo of this plaque is at the very bottom of this page).
