Fun Fact: Carnell Johnson is nicknamed “Golden Pipes” for his signature style of belting out the national anthem before every Vegas Golden Knights home game at the T-Mobile Arena. But did you know that before he was singing in front of thousands of hockey fans, Johnson was making an impression on Las Vegas visitors as a gondolier at The Venetian Hotel & Casino.
Fun Fact 2: There is a plaque in front of the Venetian commemorating the Rat Pack. The footprints of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop are below the plaque. The five stars were headliners at the famed Copa Room inside the Sands Hotel. (A photo of this plaque is at the very bottom of this page).
