Barneys New York at Venetian Out of Business
The three story upscale department store Barneys New York has gone out of business. It was located in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort & Casino. No replacement has been announced.

Venetian Resort & Casino Construction Updates
The remodeled entrance to The Venetian Theater is complete. It was boarded up for many weeks and this week the construction walls came down and it looks great. They continue replacing the tile in the front of the casino. The portion of the Poker Room that was removed continues to get remodeled into a new casino pit or more slot machines. The Venetian is owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation.

The Monkey Bar at SLS Las Vegas CLOSED and Sahara Las Vegas Coming
The Monkey Bar at the SLS Las Vegas has closed. It was located near the hotel lobby that is currently closed for a complete remodel. The Monkey Bar will not return. The SLS Las Vegas will be rebranded Sahara Las Vegas this week. They were removing the SLS signs and adding Sahara signs on the outside of the hotel towers. The SLS Las Vegas is owned by the Meruelo Group.

Mirage Casino Remodel Continues
There are currently two areas in the Mirage Casino that are getting a remodel. One area is by the casino pit and the other is near the atrium. The Mirage Resort & Casino is owned by MGM Resorts International.

Moneyline Sports Bar & Book at Park MGM Construction Update
Money Line Sports Bar & Book at Park MGM remains closed. Construction curtains remain in place, and construction continues. Money Line Sports Bar & Book opened the week of March 12th, 2018 and closed the week of July 14th, 2019. Sports bets at Park MGM can be currently made at a temporary location at the cashiers cage or on your mobile app. Park MGM is owned by MGM Resorts International.

Viva Vision Light Show Upgrade Continues
The Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas has started its $32 million renovation of Viva Vision, which is the world’s largest single video screen. The Viva Vision light show is an LED display on the “canopy” that runs along the Fremont Street Experience from Main Street to Fourth Street. It features different shows at the top of each hour, starting at dusk.
The upgraded Viva Vision canopy will illuminate the pedestrian mall with 16,433,152 pixels and 5,000 Nits, making it seven-times brighter than the existing canopy with four-times the resolution. They will be installing the new Viva Vision panels in sections, so the current shows will continue. Completion is expected by New Years Eve.
They are currently working on the section in front of Four Queens Hotel & Casino. Some areas are closed to the street performers at this time.
New Pedestrian Bridge over Strip Update
Construction continues on the new pedestrian bridge over the Las Vegas Strip from Park MGM to the Hard Rock Cafe. This bridge is needed because of the added foot traffic from T-Mobile Arena, Park Theater and nearby casinos. In 2020, they plan construction on four more pedestrian bridges crossing Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, on the far north end of the Strip.
Target being built on the Las Vegas Strip Update
Construction continues on the first Target Department Store being built on the Las Vegas Strip. It is located directly across from Park MGM. This project is moving fast.
Sin City Theater at Planet Hollywood Makes a Change
The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip has changed the entrance to the Sin City Theater. You now enter through the side instead of the front on the mezzanine. It is near the south elevator banks down a hall that looks like it was built for industrial use by employees. Currently the shows Crazy Girls and Tenors of Rock perform in the theater. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is owned by Caesars Entertainment.

New Attraction and Restaurants Coming to Caesars Palace
There are three new restaurants and an attraction coming to the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip. The Slanted Door (Vietnamese), True Food Kitchen & Bar and Frida Mexican Cuisine are three restaurants being built. True Bar is being built from the ground up, right at the entrance to the mall from Las Vegas Blvd and The Escape Game is being constructed on the third floor. These projects will be completed later this year or in early 2020.
