Harrah’s Lobby Remodel First Phase Complete
Harrah’s Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip is currently remodeling the hotel lobby and all rooms and suites in the Mardi Gras Tower. Over half of the hotel lobby remodel was completed on Monday, August 19th. A lot of the casino has received new tile that is much brighter. The old tile was brown and the new tile is white. They also plan on replacing the carpet throughout the casino.
Harrah’s Hotel closed the Mardi Gras Tower to remodel all guest rooms and suites the week of July 24th. This project is unique, as most room remodels will take place on two or three floors at a time. Caesars Entertainment (owner) decided to take the entire tower out of service.
It is reported they hope to be finished in September. After the remodel, it has been rumored that the new tower will be called the Mountain Tower. Harrah’s has been in the process of removing the Mardi Gras theme throughout the property over the past several months. The Valley Tower, that was remodeled last year, remains open. This remodel looks great.

Arizona Charlie’s Boulder Removes Casino Table Games
Arizona Charlie’s Casino, Hotel & RV Park on Boulder Highway removed their casino pit. It was replaced with slot and video poker machines. They still have their popular Bingo Hall, William Hill Race & Sports Book, and 840 slot and video poker machines. Arizona Charlie’s Decatur continues to have a casino pit. Arizona Charlie’s is owned by Golden Gaming and it caters to Las Vegas “locals”..

Caesars Palace Coliseum Remodel Continues
Country superstar Keith Urban will be the first artist to perform in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace after the theater remodel is complete. He will bring his “Graffiti U World Tour” into the theater September 6th and 7th.
Urban’s shows will be the first to be performed in the Colosseum since Reba and Brooks & Dunn performed on July 6th. The Colosseum was originally built for Celine Dion, who had her final show on June 8th. It was previously announced that Rod Stewart’s performance on September 18th would be the first. Caesars Palace is owned by Caesars Entertainment.

Chick-fil-A on Las Vegas Strip Construction Continues
Chick-fil-A has started construction at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Why is this location unique? There are other Chick-fil-A locations that have opened in Nevada over the past two years, but this location is unique because it will be in a casino.
Many of the company’s values are influenced by the religious beliefs of its late founder, S. Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist, who passed away in 2014. He would have never approved of a Chick-fil-A to be built in a casino resort or even in the State of Nevada.
It is being built in the space that formally had a Pink’s Hot Dogs restaurant. Pink’s Hot Dogs closed in May 2018 and the space has remained empty since. Caesars Entertainment, owner of Planet Hollywood, submitted building plans for a $750,000 Chick-fil-A to be built. Construction started the third week of April and it is scheduled to open in late 2019.
Slogan: “We Didn’t Invent the Chicken, Just the Chicken Sandwich,” refers to their flagship menu item, the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich.
All Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed for business on Sundays, as well as on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. This new Planet Hollywood location will also be closed on those days. The first Chick-fil-A opened in 1967 and the company is based in College Park, Georgia. They have over 2,200 locations in the USA and Canada.

A Second illy Caffè Coming to the Las Vegas Strip
A second illy Caffè is under construction near the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. It is replacing a Krispy Kreme that closed several months ago on the second floor, next to Rainforest Cafe and Twin Peaks Restaurants. There is already a illy Caffè in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort & Casino.
