Work continues in the front of Harrah’s Hotel and Casino to remove the Mardi Gras and Carnaval theme. They are also going to remodel all the rooms in the second tower starting in July. The first tower completed its remodel in 2018.
Crews have started removing the Mardi Gras beads and more on the outside of the casino. The multi-colored lighting that looks like Mardi Gras beads is being replaced with a purple band. In February they added several new large LED displays in the front of the casino.
A clue that a change was coming was when they did a remodel of the Carnival Tower rooms. They renamed the remodeled rooms Valley Tower rooms. Harrah’s has another tower called Mardi Gras that will be getting a full remodel starting in July. It may be renamed the Mountain Tower when completed.
Harrah’s Hotel and Casino is located on the “center” of the Las Vegas Strip. It opened in 1973 as the Holiday Casino that had a Riverboat theme and was the largest Holiday Inn in the world. In 1992, the Hotel Casino was re-branded Harrah’s Las Vegas and they changed to a Mardi Gras and Carnival theme. They currently have 2,677 rooms and suites in two towers.
