J Resort is a casino hotel in Downtown Reno. It opened in 1970 as the Sands Regency Casino Hotel. In June 2023, it was rebranded J Resort after over $400 million in renovations. It is owned by Jacobs Entertainment, Inc.
The hotel features 833 rooms and suites in three towers – Aspen, Birch and Cedar. They have some of the largest standard guest rooms in downtown. They have a fitness center open 24/7, gift shop and an outdoor pool that is open seasonally.

The casino features over 25,000 square-feet of gambling space, with the latest slot and video poker machines. The casino pit offers Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Face-Up Pai Gow and more. They have a very nice William Hill Sports Book and they use the J Rewards loyalty card.

They have the Main Bar in the casino that is open 24/7, pool bar and Afterglow Lounge that is non-smoking and has live music on select nights. Afterglow also has a self-playing piano to entertain guests until midnight nightly.
J Resort features some great original artwork throughout the property.
They offer free valet and self parking. Hotel guest have access to a free airport shuttle to/from Reno-Tahoe International Airport (contact bell desk for details).
