La Popular – CDMX opened to the public this week at the Palms Casino Resort, one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip. It is operated by Grupo Carolo restaurant group of Mexico City and Eureka Restaurant Group of California. It replaces the former Bobby Flay’s Shark. CDMX – Ciudad de México – is the abbreviation for Mexico City.
La Popular is open Monday – Thursday, 4pm – 12am and Friday – Sunday from 11am – 12am. Happy hour is available Monday – Friday from 4 – 6pm with deals on draft beer, wine, margaritas and select appetizers and tacos. Brunch is available Friday – Sunday all day offering select dishes along with a live DJ spinning Friday and Saturday nights.
My wife and I dined here on July 3. The food and service were excellent. They need some cooler salsas for the Gringos, including myself. We had Two Tacos and Three Enchiladas (photos below). My wife also had two of their Margarita’s. I will return very soon.
