Golden Gate Hotel and Casino’s New Logo

The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas recently changed their logo, and it looks great.  At first glance, you wonder what it means?  It is the number “1” and the letter “F” in the middle.  This is for their address – 1 Fremont Street. There are two lines on each side of the “1F” that resemble the lighting on the outside of the hotel and casino. It is shaped in an arch like on the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino opened in 1906 and was called Hotel Nevada when it opened. It was the first hotel in Las Vegas. It was then renamed Sal Sagev (Las Vegas spelled backwards). This hotel received the first phone number in Las Vegas “1”.

In 1974 it was renamed The Golden Gate and it has a San Francisco theme. It has 122 rooms and suites. On June 1st they opened the first Circa Sports Book, named for the new 777-room Circa Resort and Casino being built across Fremont Street from the Golden Gate.

The Golden Gate, The D and the under construction Circa Resort are owned by Greg and Derek Stevens.

Circa Sports Book Opens in The D Casino

The Circa Sports Book opened at The D Hotel and Casino on the 2nd floor on June 19th, and it looks great.  Where are the seats?  I guess you could sit at the remodeled VUE Bar or the Long Bar to watch your game.  This was a former William Hill Sports Book that has had a top to bottom remodel.
