On Wednesday night, the St. Louis Blues beat the Boston Bruins in game 7 of the Stanley Cup 4-1, to win their first Stanley Cup. The Blues were in last place in the NHL on January 3rd, 11 points behind the Anaheim Ducks for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Two days later, they recalled rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington and turned around their season.

Many Las Vegas Sports Books in mid-January put the Blues odds to win the Stanley Cup at 300-1. Fans in St. Louis are cheering – the Sports Books are not.

This is perhaps the worst loss for the Sports Books since the English Premier League team Leicester City  overcame astronomical odds to win their title in 2016.
