Caesars Entertainment announced they will eliminate plastic straws and stirrers at all casino resorts nationwide.  This follows MGM Resorts International, that did the same thing in May.  Caesars and MGM make up the majority of casino resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, and both companies have properties worldwide.  You will still be able to request a plastic straw at this time.  They will also be available for to-go cups and frozen beverages.

The movement to ban single-use, plastic straws has gained momentum across the USA, pushed along by a viral video of a sea turtle with a straw lodged in its nose.  Seattle Washington became the first city to ban plastic straws and many other cities have done the same thing in California.

The casino resorts in Las Vegas that Caesars Entertainment own include Caesars Palace, Bally’s, Cromwell, Harrah’s, Flamingo, Linq, Paris, O’Sheas, Rio and Planet Hollywood.

The casino resorts in Las Vegas that MGM Resorts International own include Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Luxor, New York-New York, Park MGM, Mirage, Aria, Vdara, Delano and Circus-Circus.
