Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe is a hotel and casino located in Stateline, Nevada. It opened in 1965 as Sahara Tahoe and has undergone several name changes throughout its history. In 2023, it was rebranded Golden Nugget and is currently owned and managed by Fertitta Entertainment/Landry’s Inc. The theme is inspired by the Gold Rush.
The hotel has 539 rooms and suites in a 15-story tower that underwent a complete renovation in 2025. Standard rooms measure 336 square-feet, and each room comes with plush bedding, a 65″ HDTV, free Wi-Fi, a mini-refrigerator and a coffee maker. Additionally, they are a pet-friendly property, offering the Hair of the Dog Pet Concierge service.
They also feature South Shores’ largest outdoor pool, which is open seasonally, as well as a fitness center, wedding planning services, a gift shop, and car rental options available through both Avis and Budget.
The casino has 25,000 square-feet of gaming space with over 400 slot, keno and video poker machines. They have a 24-table casino pit with all the popular games including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and more.
Bill’s Sportsbook has a 1,200 square-foot HD Video Wall for a great viewing experience. Their loyalty program is the 24K Select Club.
Tip: Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe is owned by Landry’s, Inc., so all restaurants accept the Landry’s Select Club card.

[Coming Soon] Tip: Be sure to see “The Hand of Faith” that is on display in the hotel lobby. It is the world’s largest golden nugget, that weighs 61 lbs. 11 oz. This is free to view.
The Golden Nugget Showroom is currently dark, but in the past it offered a variety of entertainment, including tribute bands, comedy shows and national touring acts.
They have over 14,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and convention space and are across the street from the Tahoe Blue Event Center.
There is a fee to park, unless you have status with their loyalty program.
