Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino opened on March 2, 1999 and it has 3,209 rooms and suites. The theme is tropical. It is the furthest casino south on the Las Vegas Strip. It is a Marriott Bonvoy Hotel.
They have one of the best, if not the best pool complex in Las Vegas that is 11-acres with a wave pool and a lazy river called Mandalay Beach. They keep at least one pool open year-round. Moorea Beach Club provides guests with a private, adult (21+), upscale dayclub with European sunbathing.
There are two sister properties connected to Mandalay Bay that share the same casino – Delano which was formerly called THEhotel and the Four Seasons that is on floors 35-39. The Four Seasons is a 5-Star award winning hotel by AAA and is very family friendly. [On October 21 it was announced that Delano will be rebranded the W Las Vegas within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio by the end of 2024]
The 135,000 square-foot casino features all the latest slot machines and they have a large pit with all the popular table games including, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Baccarat and more. They have a very large non-smoking BetMGM Race & Sports Book and a Poker Room.
Mandalay Bay is operated by MGM Resorts International and they use the MGM Rewards loyalty card.

They have a very large Convention Center as well as the 12,000-seat Michelob ULTRA Arena that was formally called the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Tip: The WNBA Las Vegas Aces play professional basketball in the Michelob ULTRA Arena.
For something unique you can visit the Shark Reef Aquarium, open daily 10am-8pm (last admission 7pm). You can also visit the Undersea Explorer VR Experience with Shark Reef admission.
Swingers – The Crazy Golf Club opened November 8, 2024, and features four mini-golf courses, live DJ’s, cocktails, gourmet street food and more.
Mandalay Bay has Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil. They perform in a 1,805-seat theater that was custom built for this very popular show. The House of Blues Music Hall features top name bands throughout the year. It can hold up to 1,800 guests.
For shopping, it is connected to The Shoppes at Mandalay Place and they have several stores within the resort as well.
Fun Fact: The Hacienda Hotel and Casino was one of the early casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. It opened in 1956, and had a distinctive horse and rider sign that is now at the Neon Museum. It began as a 256-room motel, and grew into a 1,200-room resort. It was imploded on December 31, 1996, to make room for a project that was only known as “Project Paradise” – later renamed Mandalay Bay.
