Boomtown Casino Resort opened on April 21, 1964, initially serving as a truck stop in Verdi, a suburb of Reno, Nevada. Over the years, it has changed ownership multiple times, and since 2012, it has been owned and operated by St. John Properties.

The hotel features 316 rooms and suites, operating under the Best Western Plus brand. Rooms are distributed between two towers: the two-story South Tower and the six-story North Tower. Each room comes with pillow-top mattresses, a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, microwave, coffee maker and a mini-refrigerator.

Amenities include an indoor heated pool that remains open throughout the year, fitness center, a 24/7 business center and a gift shop.

The KOA RV Park is fully equipped and offers a scenic view of the Truckee River. It features more than 200 spaces, complete hookups, a campground, cable TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool (open seasonally) and more.

They have 40,000 square-feet of gaming space with over 500 slot, keno and video poker machines. The 10-table casino pit features Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker and more.

They also have a live Keno lounge and a William Hill Sportsbook. Their loyalty program is the Boomtown Players Club.

The Boomtown Fun Center is an arcade featuring over 30,000 square-feet of games for kids of all ages and a redemption center that offers prizes. It also includes a motion theater, virtual rides, bounce house, Ferris wheel, carousel and a 9-hole miniature golf course.

They have 10,250 square-feet of flexible meeting, event and convention space, including the 7,200 square-foot Sierra Ballroom.

Fun Fact: For many years, the Boomtown Casino was renowned for its all-you-can-eat Whole Maine Lobster, Steak and Seafood Buffet, which was celebrated as the finest seafood feast in the area. It ceased operations in 2020 and has yet to reopen.
