Circus-Circus Hotel & Casino is going in a different direction than the other casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Instead of removing slot machines that take coins, they are adding them.
Very few casinos still have slot machines that take coins. Most use ticket in/ticket out, where only bills and tickets are accepted.
For many years Circus-Circus has maintained a very large and popular bank of $1 slot machines that take coins/tokens. This past Monday they were in the process of adding several banks of 25¢ slot machines that will take quarters.
There are a few other casinos that have slot and video poker machines that still take coins. The casino with the most would be the El Cortez in Downtown Las Vegas, as well as the California and Fremont.
