Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall opened in 1979, as the first Las Vegas “locals” casino. It is located on Boulder Highway, 6 miles from both the Las Vegas Strip and Harry Reid International Airport.
The theme is the Old West, and their slogan is “When You’re Here Your Home!” They are owned and operated by Boyd Gaming.
They have 645 rooms and suites in a nine-story hotel tower. Standard rooms measure 375 square-feet and suites measure 630-1,000 square-feet. All rooms come with a 55″ flat screen TV, mini-refrigerator and many rooms overlook Mystic Falls Park.
The tropical outdoor pool and hot tub are open year-round to hotel guests. They also have a fitness center, Logo Shop and Gatsby’s Salon.
The KOA RV Park at Sam’s Town has 463 full-hook-up sites, spacious pull-through sites, and extended stay opportunities. The park amenities include two pools with hot tubs, laundry and shower facilities, cable and WiFi, and a communal BBQ area.
Sam’s Town has 120,681 square-feet of gaming space with over 1,400 slot, keno and video poker machines. The casino pit has all the popular table games, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Pai Gow Poker, Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker and more.
The 600-seat Bingo Hall has sessions at the top of each odd hour from 11am to 11pm daily. They also have a 300-seat Race & Sports Book with 60 big screen TVs. Their loyalty program is Boyd Rewards.

Sam’s Town Live is a 1,100 seat multi-use venue with live entertainment.
They have over 30,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and event space, including the 10,000 square-foot Ponderosa Room.
Fun Fact: In 2006 the popular Las Vegas based band The Killers released an album titled Sam’s Town named after this casino.
Fun Fact 2: In 2023, Sam’s Town became the last known casino to remove Full Pay Deuces Wild, a variant of video poker known for its vulnerability to advantage play.
