The Plaza Hotel & Casino is located in Downtown Las Vegas and features 1,037 rooms and suites. It opened in 1971 as the Union Plaza. At the time Amtrak had a train station at the Plaza, that ended in 1997. They are located across the street from Fremont Street Experience. The theme of this Hotel Casino is “Classic Las Vegas”.

The Plaza has a very nice roof top Swimming Pool above the casino that is heated year round. They also have 12 Pickleball and Tennis Courts open daily 9am to 6pm. They have a 600 seat “Classic” Showroom, convention and meeting space, as well as a Wedding Chapel on the second floor. They are owned by Tamares Group, based in London, England and they use the Plaza Rewards players card.

The Plaza has a large casino floor with new and older slot machines. Full casino pit with all the popular table games, including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Double Deck Blackjack, Free Bet Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker with Progressive Jackpot, 3 Card Poker, Let It Ride, Ultimate Texas Hold ’em, High Card Flush Poker and more.

They have a William Hill Sports Book, Bingo and live Keno. Tip: This is the only casino to offer Bingo in Downtown Las Vegas.

In June 2023, the Plaza opened a new smoke-free slot machine casino space named for online influencer Brian Christopher.

Tip: Be sure to see the displays of the history of this Hotel Casino when it was the Union Plaza on the second floor, next to Oscar’s Steakhouse.

Fun Fact: The Plaza has been featured in many movies over the years, including “Casino”, “Back to the Future Part II”, “Pay It Forward”, “The Hangover Part 3” and many more. “The Killers” 2017 music video for “The Man” was filmed at The Plaza.

They added murals on the outside of the hotel tower in 2017. In 2018 they added the Core Arena, the only permanent outdoor equestrian center in Downtown Las Vegas.
