South Point Hotel Casino & Spa caters to Las Vegas “locals” and tourists alike. It is located 7-miles from both the Las Vegas Strip and Harry Reid International Airport.
It opened on December 22, 2005, as the South Coast Hotel & Casino and in 2006 it became South Point. It is owned by Michael Gaughan, and the theme is Southern California.
The hotel has 2,163 rooms and suites in a 25-story hotel tower. Standard rooms measure 500 square-feet, and the 84 suites measure between 835 and 2,500 square-feet. All rooms come with a 50″ 4K TV, mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, upgraded bath amenities and slippers.
The tropical Pool Complex is open seasonally and has a free form pool, wading pool, hot tub, gazebo, pool store, bar and deli.
They also have the South Point Spa, Salon and Fitness Center that was fully remodeled in 2026, business center, barbershop, gift shop and liquor store.
They have 137,232 square-feet of gaming space with 2,100 slot, keno and video poker machines. The casino pit features over 60 table games, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Pai-Gow Poker, No Commission Baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker and more.
The 600-seat Bingo Hall has sessions at the top of each odd hour from 11am to 11pm daily. They also have a 30 table Poker Room, 150-seat Race Book and 100+ seat Sports Book.

They have a 64-lane Bowling Center, 16-screen Century Movie Complex, Sugarloaf Entertainment Arcade and an Arena & Equestrian Center, which has more than 1,200 climate-controlled stalls and has events throughout the year.
The South Point Showroom seats 400 guests and has different entertainment offerings several times each week, including live bands, comedians and more.
They have 175,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and exhibit space, including a 70,000 square-foot conference center.
Fun Fact: Michael’s Gourmet Room has two different menus. One for the ladies with no prices and another for men with prices.
Fun Fact 2: In addition to the 64-lane Bowling Center the South Point also has a 60-lane Tournament Bowling Plaza that is home to the USBC Open Championships and the USBC Women’s Championships.
