Mandalay Bay is a resort and casino on the far south end of the Las Vegas Strip. It was built on the former site of the Hacienda Hotel and Casino and opened on March 2, 1999. The theme is South Pacific / Tropical.
The resort has a total of 4,750 rooms and suites, with three different brands.
- Mandalay Bay has 3,209 rooms and suites and is a Marriott Bonvoy Hotel.
- W Las Vegas has 1,117 rooms in its own all-suite hotel tower and was formerly called Delano and THEhotel. It is also a Marriott Bonvoy Hotel.
- Four Seasons Hotel has 424 rooms and suites on floors 35-39 of the Mandalay Bay hotel tower. It is a 5-Star rated hotel by AAA and is very family friendly. Four Seasons Hotel guests can use the pools at Mandalay Beach or the Four Seasons private pool.
They have an 11-acre pool complex called Mandalay Beach, that includes a 1.6-million-gallon wave pool with 6-foot waves, lagoon with real sand and a lazy river. They keep at least one pool open year-round.
They also have Moorea Beach Club that provides guests 21 years of age and older a private upscale dayclub that is “toptional”.
Mandalay Bay Spa & Salon spans over 30,000 square-feet and is open daily. They also have a 3,000 square-foot fitness center, FedEx Office business center, Avis Car Rental, Weddings by Mandalay Bay and several shops.
They have over 135,000 square-feet of gaming space with almost 1,000 slot and video poker machines. The casino pits have approximately 80 table games with Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker and more.
They also have High Limit gaming, 10-table Poker Room and a large BetMGM Race & Sports Book.
Mandalay Bay is operated by MGM Resorts International, and they use the MGM Rewards loyalty card.

Mandalay Bay has Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil. They perform in an 1,800-seat theater that was custom built for this very popular show. The House of Blues Music Hall features top name bands throughout the year and can hold up to 1,800 guests.
Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce is a legendary burlesque nightclub that has shows Thursday through Sunday nights.
Tailgate Beach Club opened in June 2026 and is a next-generation sports-driven dayclub. It is open year-round with three heated pools and can accommodate 2,000 guests.
For something unique you can visit Shark Reef Aquarium, that displays over 2,000 animals, including numerous species of sharks, rays, fish, reptiles and invertebrates. It is open daily 10am-8pm (last admission 7pm).
Swingers – The Crazy Golf Club opened November 8, 2024, and features four mini-golf courses, live DJ’s, cocktails, gourmet street food and more.
Bob Marley Hope Road The Experience opened June 25, 2025, and closed in January 2026 (scheduled to reopen in Spring 2026). It featured the life and music of Bob Marley with two distinct experiences.
The 12,000-seat Michelob ULTRA Arena was formally called the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Tip: The WNBA Las Vegas Aces play professional basketball in the Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Mandalay Bay is connected to The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, that has over 25 stores, restaurants and bars.
The Mandalay Bay Convention Center spans over 2,100,000 square-feet and is the fifth largest convention center in the U.S.
Fun Fact: The Hacienda Hotel and Casino was imploded on December 31, 1996, to make room for a project that was only known as “Project Paradise” – later renamed Mandalay Bay.
Fun Fact 2: Mandalay Bay’s distinct golden color comes from sheets of actual 24-karat gold used in the windows.
