Fun Fact: As part of a $40 million public art program initiated by MGM Resorts, works by noted artists have been variously commissioned and acquired with the goal of promoting Las Vegas as a destination for the art world. Among them, Maya Lin’s contribution is an 84-foot cast of the Colorado River suspended above the check-in desk within CityCenter’s ARIA Resort lobby. It is named “Silver River”. (Photo posted below).
Fun Fact 2: The world’s largest piece of chainsaw art, weighing 3,000 pounds and spanning 25 feet, is found inside Javier’s. Artist J. Chester Armstrong created the five 5- by 10-foot panels that depict the Mayan Creation myth and modern Mexican history. On it, hundreds of dia de los muertos skeletons transport guests through a five-part journey that includes the dark Tree of Death to redemption in the Tree of Life. (Photo posted below).
Tip: You can take a free tram from the ARIA to the Bellagio, and they have an indoor walkway to Park MGM. RTC Bus Route: DEUCE
