The 17-by-8-foot sign at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, featuring an old west portrait of the real Arizona Charlie, will be moved later in the summer to the Neon Museum.

The casino’s namesake was “Arizona” Charlie Meadows, a legendary sharpshooter in Buffalo Bill’s Show and a distant relative of the original owners of Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, the Becker family.

The sign had been in place since 1988 at the Las Vegas “locals” casino. An upgraded Arizona Charlie’s sign with a new logo was installed at the property in July.

The Neon Museum was founded in 1996 and is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historic, arts and cultural enrichment. It is located at 770 N Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas.

Arizona Charlie’s Decatur has also recently added a PT’s Express and Dunkin’ Donuts. Ron’s Steakhouse remains closed, but Sourdough Cafe remains open 24/7, with great specials.

Arizona Charlie’s Decatur is owned by Golden Entertainment and has a sister property, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder. Golden also owns The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod, 65+ PT’s Taverns and other properties throughout Nevada.
