Uniquely Vegas: Which Las Vegas Strip Ice Rink Is Better This Holiday Season?

Uniquely Vegas is a series of articles and photos that VegasChanges.com is composing to showcase the many unique and offbeat things to see and do in the Las Vegas Valley, as well as day trips and more.

On this venture we are comparing two Ice Rinks that are open this holiday season on the Las Vegas Strip. Both The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Fontainebleau Las Vegas have transformed their pools into winter wonderlands until January, 2025. Which is better (see below)?

The Cosmopolitan has turned their Boulevard Pool into The Ice Rink for several years, where you can skate across 4,200-square-feet of real ice. The ice rink has fantastic views of the Las Vegas Strip and you can roast s’mores by the firepits, see snow showers and much more.

They also have the Ski Lodge Waffle Hut with winter cocktails and gourmet waffles, the Coca-Cola Holiday Village with many activities, and The Chalet that has handcrafted cocktails and unique curated bites. Date Skate features holiday movies and takes place every Monday & Tuesday and on Christmas Day.

Admission is free. Ice skating admission includes all-day skating access and skate rentals. $30 daily and $20 for locals, military & first responders with valid ID (Mon – Thurs).

Open daily until January 12, 2025 (hours vary). Official Site

The Cosmopolitan address: 3708 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas

For their inaugural season, Fontainebleau Las Vegas has turned their pool complex into the Oasis Ice Rink that is comprised of two rinks that span nearly 8,000-square-feet of real ice.

They also have the Holiday Village that features festive communal firepit rentals, merry photo moments, cozy holiday cabanas and seasonal lite bites and cocktails.

There are Movie Nights on select days where you can watch your favorite holiday classics on the big screen.

Admission is free for Fontainebleau Rewards members and up to 5 guests. Ice skating admission includes all-day skating access and skate rentals. $35 daily, $30 for locals, military & first responders and $25 for Fontainebleau Rewards members. They also have a $15 Happy Hour Skate for all guests, Sun-Thu 5-7pm.

Open daily until January 5, 2025 (hours vary). Official Site

Fontainebleau Las Vegas address: 2777 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas

Which Las Vegas Strip Ice Rink is better? It depends on what you plan to do and when you visit.

The Ice Rink at The Cosmopolitan seems to have more things to do, besides just ice skating. They have fantastic views of the Strip, snow showers and it is $30 to skate ($20 for locals Mon-Thu).

The Oasis Ice Rink at Fontainebleau has almost twice as much ice to skate on with two rinks. It is new and everything looks great. Members of Fontainebleau Rewards (free to join if 21+) can skate for $25. The best bargain is the $15 Happy Hour Skate for all guests (Sun-Thu 5-7pm).
