Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is fast approaching, and there are several events being held November 1-2 in the Las Vegas Valley. The holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.
Día de los Muertos Festival at Lorenzi Park

Celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with the city of Las Vegas! This vibrant homage to life is a true community event and one of the most charming and colorful holidays celebrated by Mexican and Latin American cultures. Produced by the city of Las Vegas, this lighthearted and joyful tribute honors the memory of family and friends who have passed away in a fun and immersive atmosphere, featuring special entertainment by local and guest artists, interactive children’s activities, artisan vendors, food, face painting, special décor and an exhibition of altars created by community organizations and groups. 23rd Annual Life in Death Festival at Winchester Cultural Center

Clark County Parks and Recreation presents “Life in Death: Day of the Dead,” a two-day festival featuring displays, an art exhibit, performances, craft sales, and food vendors. Join us to celebrate Día de Muertos, a vibrant tradition celebrating the lives of loved ones who have passed. This Mexican holiday is rooted in rich traditions, including colorful altars called ofrendas, which offer a space for reflection and remembrance. Visit our Community Ofrenda in the museum’s lobby, where you can add your own mementos or simply reflect on the memories shared.
During Día de Muertos, families use marigolds, candles and offerings to welcome the spirits of their ancestors. Create your own marigold craft in the Education Room on Friday and Saturday from 1-3pm. Mariachi Cristal from Las Vegas High School will give a special performance in the museum, bringing the vibrant sounds of traditional Mexican music to our celebration of Día de Muertos on Saturday at 1pm. Dia de los Muertos Family Fiesta at Pop Squires Park

Join Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune and the Village of Centennial Springs small businesses for a free family fiesta in Pop Squires Park. Families can browse local market vendors and enjoy a free screening of the animated movie “Coco.” Refreshments will be available for purchase. Official Site

Day of the Dead Celebration at East Las Vegas Library

Join the East Las Vegas Library in partnership with Chicanos Por La Causa for our fourth annual Día de los Muertos celebration, where the community is invited to come and honor their loved ones who have departed. Enjoy traditional Mexican crafts for all ages, a community ofrenda, car show, mural painting, live music and dancing with the celebration ending in a lively calaverita parade through the library and outdoor plaza.
