On March 17, 2020, former Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak ordered the closure of non-essential businesses in the state, including casinos, to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. In Nevada, this included 440 casinos and 1,977 small casinos with 15 or fewer gaming machines.

This was the first time casinos shut down in Nevada since the funeral of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

Casinos in Las Vegas were allowed to reopen June 4, 2020, with tight restrictions, including a mask mandate, limited occupancy, social distancing, temperature checks, increased sanitation and more.

So, what did Las Vegas look like during the COVID-19 shutdown? All photos were taken by VegasChanges.com.
