The Mirage – Treasure Island Tram has carried its last passenger and has been permanently closed. The 1,000 foot-long people mover took 90 seconds to travel between the two resorts.

On Thursday, Treasure Island boarded up its tram station. The tram currently sits idle at The Mirage.

The tram opened in 1993 along with the opening of the Treasure Island casino. At the time, both Treasure Island and The Mirage were owned by Mirage Resorts.

The tram continued to operate when MGM Resorts took over The Mirage and Treasure Island. It remained operational when Phil Ruffin purchased Treasure Island and later, when Hard Rock International took over The Mirage.

There are still two free trams operating in Las Vegas. The ARIA Express that travels between ARIA, Bellagio, Vdara, Park MGM and The Shops at Crystals. You can also take the Mandalay Bay Tram that goes to Luxor and Excalibur.

The Mirage Hotel & Casino will close on July 17, 2024 and will reopen as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel in May 2027.
