Rare Arctic Yellow-Billed Loon Pauses The Fountains of Bellagio Show

On Tuesday, March 5, The Fountains of Bellagio water show was paused because a Yellow-Billed Loon decided to stop by for a visit at this Las Vegas Strip Resort.

Both the Resort and Parking Fees were waived for the Loon.

From The Bellagio on X:We are happy to welcome the most exclusive guests. The Fountains of Bellagio are paused as we work with state wildlife officials to rescue a Yellow-billed Loon, one of the 10 rarest birds in the U.S., that has found comfort on Las Vegas’ own Lake Bellagio.”

Update 3/6/2024 on X from NV Dept. of Wildlife @NvDOW: “A juvenile, yellow-billed loon, generally associated with coastal regions, was discovered within the fountain at the Bellagio. This morning, biologists safely captured and relocated the loon to a more suitable and remote location where it has space, food, and quiet surroundings.”

The Fountains of Bellagio is a free attraction in the front of the resort that features more than a thousand fountains that dance, enhanced by music and light. The display spans more than 1,000 feet with water soaring as high as 460 feet into the air. The Fountains of Bellagio times:
