The Clark County Board of Commission is proposing a new ordinance to keep foot traffic flowing along pedestrian bridges on the Las Vegas Strip. No stopping or standing on bridges. The new rule, if passed comes with a fine of $1,000 or a misdemeanor charge. If convicted, you can go to the county jail for up to six months.

On December 5, 2023 this ordinance will be open to public comment:

From Clark County: “Introduce an Ordinance to amend Title 16 of the Clark County Code to add a new Chapter 16.13 to establish pedestrian flow zones on pedestrian bridges and up to 20 feet surrounding a touchdown structure; and providing for other matters properly relating thereto; and set a public hearing. (For possible action)”.

It seems this is because of the buskers, singers with loud musical instruments (some banging drums), Elvis impersonators, and the guy who stands on the bridge with a cup that keeps chanting “put a buck in my cup and I will shut the F*** up” (in front of everyone, including kids).

This sounds like a positive move. The ACLU does not agree, according to local news.
