Very busy week! There were many changes on the Strip, Downtown and in the Las Vegas Valley this past week. Photos are posted below of the different changes.

Fremont Hotel & Casino Construction Continues
All rooms and suites are being remodeled. The exterior received a new paint job with shades of brown, tan and white. There is also other construction taking place. This is a major remodel.
Binion’s Remodeling Whisky Licker Bar
This is the bar next to the First Street Stage on the Fremont Street Experience. On January 29 it was completely gutted.
Main Street Station Buffet Changes Name (Sort of)
The Garden Court Buffet is now called Garden Court All-You-Can-Eatery. I guess the word buffet is not popular in these crazy times.
Nellie’s Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand Construction Starts
This new restaurant is replacing the shuttered Hecho En Vegas Mexican Grill & Cantina at the MGM Grand in The District. The construction walls were recently put in place.
Kung Fu Tea Coming to The Shoppes at Mandalay Place
Kung Fu Tea is replacing Auntie Anne’s Pretzels on the walk from Luxor to Mandalay Bay. The construction walls are in place. Kung Fu Tea has over 250 locations in the USA and is based in New York City.
Construction Continues at Bobby’s Burgers in Paris Las Vegas
This will be Bobby’s Burgers third location in Las Vegas. The locations in Caesars Palace and Harrah’s Las Vegas have already opened. The construction walls remain in place.
Oscar Goodman/Tony “The Ant” Spilotro Statue at the Plaza
Two weeks ago, The Plaza Hotel & Casino introduced a statue by artist Brian Hanlon titled “Good Counsel” outside Oscar’s Steakhouse. We finally made it downtown to get photos.
Artist Borbay Painting Vegas Vickie at Circa Resort & Casino
Artist Jason Borbet, a.k.a. Borbay will be painting Vegas Vickie daily from 11am to 7pm until February 3 at the new Circa Resort & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. Borbay Official Site
Major changes taking place in the Avenue Shops at Bally’s (soon to be Horseshoe)
On 1/4/2022 we reported: Over the past several months many stores in the Avenue Shops at Bally’s on the Las Vegas Strip have closed. More recently, even more stores have closed. It appears a large attraction will be taking the space. Black curtains cover the former stores from the escalators all the way to the Race & Sports Book. Signs posted say Coming Soon “The Cabinet”, “The Lock” and “The Gallery”.
Update: In addition to what is posted above they are also adding additional stores. Construction walls are in place for a very large gift shop and a Marshall Rousso store.
MGM Resorts are busy replacing MLife Signs with MGM Rewards Signs
On February 1, MGM Resorts International will be converting the MLife loyalty program into MGM Rewards. They have been busy changing thousands of signs at the different MGM properties. Article
