Flamingo Resort Redesigning Casino Floor Layout
Construction curtains went up on Monday, April 19 in the main casino at the Flamingo Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Workers were preparing and cleaning the area between the casino cage and Bugsy’s Bar. All other casino pits and slots remain open.
Caesars Palace turns Spanish Steps Bar into Purple Zebra
Caesars Palace Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip has turned the Spanish Steps Bar in the front of the resort into a Purple Zebra Daiquiri Bar. It received a full paint job and new signage.
Palazzo turns the former Lagasse’s Stadium into “The Stadium”
The Palazzo Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip has turned the former Lagasse’s Stadium into The Stadium. The space will be open for major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, March Madness, UFC Fights, Boxing, NFL Games, etc. It has a William Hill Sports Book with several betting stations.
Caesars Palace Removes Construction Walls at Bobby Flay’s Amalfi
The construction walls were removed on Monday, April 19 for Amalfi at Caesars Palace Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill closed in November 2020, after a 16 year run. The new Italian restaurant Amalfi will open in the same space soon. It will also be run by Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay. Caesars Palace is operated by Caesars Entertainment.
Sushi Samba Remodel Continues at Grand Canal Shoppes
Sushi Samba over the Palazzo Resort & Casino at the Grand Canal Shoppes on the Las Vegas Strip continues their major remodel. They will spend over $2 million to overhaul 2,953 sq. ft. including the demolition and relocation of the existing bar, adding a new seating layout in the dining area and more. The restaurant remains open for lunch and dinner during construction.
Sugar Factory at Harmon Corner Construction Update
Construction has ramped up on a brand new Sugar Factory that is replacing the shuttered Twin Peaks on the Harmon Corner, next to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. They are demolishing the two-story space that has a patio facing the Las Vegas Strip, right at the intersection with Harmon Avenue. They were planning to open in the 2nd quarter of 2021. This new restaurant should now open in the summer.
Olive Garden Construction Continues on the Strip
A 12,564 sq. ft. Olive Garden is being built in the Showcase Mall on the Las Vegas Strip. It will be on the third floor above Target with a maximum occupancy of 413. It will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Park MGM Resort & Casino across the street. The completion date has not been announced but construction continues at a fast pace.
H2OYO Frozen Cocktails Construction Continues at OYO Hotel
The construction walls remain in place for H2OYO Frozen Cocktails & Munchies at the OYO Hotel & Casino (former Hooters Hotel & Casino). No opening date has been announced.
MSG Sphere at the Venetian Construction Continues
The MSG Sphere Las Vegas is a sphere-shaped music and entertainment arena being built behind the Venetian Resort & Casino. The 17,500-seat auditorium is now scheduled to open in 2023. It is being built in a partnership by the Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) and the Las Vegas Sands Corporation (current owner of the Venetian).
Resorts World Construction Continues and Sets Opening Date
Paris Las Vegas moves “Street Sweeper” Statue
Paris Las Vegas Resort & Casino moved the Street Sweeper Statue that was near the entrance to the Self Parking Garage last week when the Time Share sales booth was removed. It is now located near the doors to the outdoor smoking area across from Napolean’s Dueling Piano Bar. That statue and the employees at Paris have kept that area of the resort clean since 1999.
Leo The MGM Grand Lobby Lion Removes Face Covering
Leo the MGM Grand Lion has been welcoming millions of visitors to Las Vegas since the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino opened on December 18, 1993. This week he removed his mask for the first time since Covid-19.
Leo the Lion is the mascot for the Hollywood film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He is in the lobby and the MGM Grand changes his theme many times throughout the year. Leo the MGM Lion puts smiles on the faces of people when they arrive to Las Vegas. He is a true Las Vegas treasure. Thank you Leo!
