MGM Resorts International is paying a tribute to Roy Horn, of the groundbreaking Las Vegas entertainment team Siegfried & Roy. He died on Friday May 8 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, because of complications related to COVID-19.
The legendary duo mixed magic and exotic cats to routinely sell out the theater at the Mirage, between 1990 until October 3, 2003. On that night, Horn was dragged offstage by the tiger Montecore, ending the show immediately.
The resorts are displaying an image of Roy Horn with the caption 1944-2020 on their marquees. They include Aria, Bellagio, Excalibur, MGM Grand, New York-New York and Park MGM. A small memorial has been setup at Siegfried & Roy Plaza outside the Mirage Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
