Mesquite, Nevada is a city adjacent to the Arizona state line and 80 miles northeast of Downtown Las Vegas. The city is located in the Virgin River Valley adjacent to the Virgin Mountains. It is home to a growing retirement community, as well as several casino resorts and golf courses.

It is a stopping point for those traveling along I-15 between Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. The population in 2020 was 20,471, and is one of the fastest growing cities in Nevada.

MESQUITE CASINO RESORTS:

CasaBlanca Resort-Casino-Golf-Spa is a 480-room hotel, casino and RV Park. They have a great pool complex. This property received a complete makeover in 2024.

The casino has 27,000 square-feet of gaming space, with 800 new and older slot machines. The 16-table casino pit offers Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and more. The Race & Sports Book odds come from the Station Casinos in Las Vegas.

They have several dining options, including Katherine’s, which is considered one of the best fine dining restaurants in Mesquite.

Eureka Casino Resort is 100% employee owned and operated. Built on 60-acres, the hotel features newly remodeled rooms and suites as well as a heated swimming pool.

The casino features over 850 slot and video poker machines, including many of the newest and best themes. The 11-table casino pit features Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker and more. They have a popular William Hill Sportsbook.

They have several dining options, including Gregory’s Mesquite Grill and Mason Street Courtyard, that has great dining deals.

Virgin River Casino & Lodge has over 700 hotel rooms in seven wings. The hotel features affordable rates, pet friendly rooms, two outdoor pools and three hot tubs.

The casino has over 1,000 new and older slot and video poker machines. The casino pit has 16 table-games, including 6-deck and double-deck Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Three-Card Poker.

They have a Bingo Hall with sessions daily and a new Race & Sports Book that opened in 2025 where the odds come from Station Casinos in Las Vegas.

The dining options include Virgin River Cafe, that has very good food and excellent daily specials and Sierra’s Buffet. They also have a 24-lane Bowling Center and the largest Arcade in Mesquite with 65 games.

OTHER MESQUITE CASINOS:

Golden West Restaurant & Casino is open 24/7. They are owned by the same operators of Jackpot Joanie’s in Las Vegas.

It features a nice bar, very good food deals and around 25 slot, video poker and electronic keno games.

They are very popular with local residents.

Stateline Casino is open 24/7. They have a nice bar, 50 slot, video poker and electronic keno games. Very popular with local residents.

Dotty’s (550 El Dorado Rd location) is open 24/7. It has 6,900 square-feet of gaming space with 47 slot, video poker and electronic keno games. This is one of over 120 Dotty’s locations in Nevada.

CLOSED MESQUITE CASINOS

The late-2000’s recession led to the closure of both the Mesquite Star and Oasis (formerly The Peppermill) casinos.

GOLF IN MESQUITE

Mesquite is also a destination for year-round golf, with over nine public courses in the warm desert climate.

Golf Courses in Mesquite include: Wolf Creek, The Palmer at the Oasis, Falcon Ridge, The Canyons at the Oasis, Conestoga in Sun City, Casablanca, and The Palms.
