Vesper Bar at the Cosmopolitan Closed for remodel

It is scheduled to reopen in late fall. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is owned by the Blackstone Group.

Sahara Las Vegas adds many new signs outside
The Sahara Las Vegas on the far north end of the Las Vegas Strip has removed all the SLS Las Vegas signs. The SLS Las Vegas was rebranded Sahara Las Vegas earlier this year. They have added many new Sahara signs on the hotel tower and throughout the property.
It looks like the construction walls will be coming down soon in the hotel lobby. I got a peak of the new lobby and a new Starbucks and they both look great. Sorry, no photos of that. This property has received a great remodel. The Sahara Las Vegas is owned by the Meruelo Group.

The Plaza Hotel & Casino opens new Race & Sports Book
The Plaza Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas opened a brand new William Hill Race & Sports Book this past week. It is about half the size of the former Sports Book with brand new furnishings and a lot of TV’s to watch horse racing and sporting events. This new Sports Book looks great.
The portion of the former Sports Book that was not remodeled will be used to build an additional hotel check-in area, according to two employees. The Plaza Hotel & Casino is owned by the Tamares Group.

NoMad Casino at Park MGM Construction Update
The construction curtains have been removed and you can actually see the NoMad “high-limit” casino at Park MGM. Over the past month they were removing portions of the walls to make this area more visible from the main casino. The high limit room has always been there, but it was hidden with a small entrance. That is no longer the case. Park MGM is owned by MGM Resorts International. This renovation looks great.

“Viva Vision” Renovation Update on Fremont Street
The Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas continues the $32 million renovation of Viva Vision, which is the world’s largest single video screen. The Viva Vision light show is an LED display on the “canopy” that runs along the Fremont Street Experience from Main Street to Fourth Street.
It features different shows at the top of each hour, starting at dusk. The upgraded Viva Vision canopy will illuminate the pedestrian mall with 16,433,152 pixels and 5,000 Nits, making it seven-times brighter than the existing canopy with four-times the resolution.
Installation of the LED modules is well over half completed. They have finished work from Main Street to The Fremont Hotel & Casino. They are currently in front of The D Hotel & Casino. They are installing the new Viva Vision panels in sections, so the current shows continue. Completion is expected by New Years Eve.
Chick-fil-A at Planet Hollywood Construction Update
Chick-fil-A continues construction at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Why is this location unique? There are other Chick-fil-A locations that have opened in Nevada over the past two years, but this location is unique because it will be in a casino. There is also a location being built in the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas.
Many of the company’s values are influenced by the religious beliefs of its late founder, S. Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist, who passed away in 2014. He would have never approved of a Chick-fil-A to be built in a casino resort or even in the State of Nevada.
It is being built in the space that formally had a Pink’s Hot Dogs restaurant. Pink’s Hot Dogs closed in May 2018 and the space has remained empty since. Caesars Entertainment, owner of Planet Hollywood, submitted building plans for a $750,000 Chick-fil-A to be built. Construction started the third week of April and it is scheduled to open in late 2019.
Slogan: “We Didn’t Invent the Chicken, Just the Chicken Sandwich,” refers to their flagship menu item, the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. All Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed for business on Sundays, as well as on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. This new Planet Hollywood location will also be closed on those days.
Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino address: 3667 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
Treasure Island adding giant LED Display Board
Treasure Island Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip is adding a giant LED Display Board. It is located over the CVS Drug Store and Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Treasure Island is owned by Phil Ruffin who is in the process of purchasing Circus-Circus Hotel & Casino and the 37-acre festival grounds from MGM Resorts International for $825 million.
Treasure Island address: 3300 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
I Love Sugar at the Linq Promenade Construction Update
Construction of I Love Sugar in the Linq Promenade on the Las Vegas Strip has been taking place for over a year and it has been slow. That has changed recently and they are moving at a fast pace. It will span 14,000 square feet and is being billed by Caesars Entertainment as the largest candy experience in the world.
Linq Promenade address: 3545 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville New Patio Construction Update
Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip continues working on building a new patio. It faces the Linq Promenade. The Flamingo is owned by Caesars Entertainment.
Flamingo Hotel & Casino address: 3555 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
Ice Bar at the Linq Promenade Construction Update

New Pedestrian Bridge over Las Vegas Strip Update
Construction continues on the new pedestrian bridge over the Las Vegas Strip from Park MGM to the Hard Rock Cafe. This bridge is needed because of the added foot traffic from T-Mobile Arena, Park Theater and nearby casinos.
The bridge is now expected to open by mid-November because of utility conflicts tied to the escalators. Construction began in November 2018 and originally was expected to finish in July. The next pedestrian bridge is slated to to connect the area in front of Bellagio to the area leading to Planet Hollywood Resort.
Additional plans call for bridges to stretch across Las Vegas Boulevard between Caesars Palace and the Linq, and at Resorts World Las Vegas, but those projects don’t have timelines. In 2020, they plan construction on four more pedestrian bridges crossing Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, on the far north end of the Strip.
Target being built on the Las Vegas Strip Update
Construction continues on the first Target Department Store being built on the Las Vegas Strip. It is located directly across from Park MGM. This project is moving fast and should open in late 2020. This will be a gold mine.
Target address: 3767 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
