Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip recently constructed a large sand sculpture that is on display in the hotel lobby. This new 22-ton, eight-foot tall sand sculpture was handcrafted in 250-hours by a team from San Diego, California. The sculpture is not held together with any adhesives, glue or supports – just water and sand.
The elaborate, real sand sculpture showcases some of the can’t-miss experiences at Mandalay Bay including three sharks and 46 fish to represent Shark Reef Aquarium; concert-goers to symbolize the incredible entertainment throughout the property; a lazy river to showcase one of the resort’s most popular features, and more.
The sand sculpture replaced the statue for Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil in the hotel lobby that is performed at the resort. Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is owned by MGM Resorts International.
