Wynn Las Vegas announced during an earnings call on Wednesday November 7th that they are abandoning the $1.5 Billion, 38-acre Paradise Park lagoon project. They plan to restore the 18-hole Wynn Las Vegas golf course.
Plans were to build a giant lagoon with a white sand beach, boardwalk, convention center, restaurants, shops and a new hotel tower. All of that, except the convention center has been cancelled. Work has already started on the 400,000 square-foot convention center.
The golf course will be redesigned by Tom Fazio changing the layout because of the new convention center project taking a portion of the former golf course. The Wynn golf course closed in December 2017. They hope to have the new golf course open in about a year.
