Golden Gate Casino Expansion COMPLETE

Golden Gate Casino expansion is complete.  Construction started the second week of June and they finished building a new High Limit room September 1st.  They expanded the casino in the former Du-pars Coffee Shop.  Du-par’s closed on February 7, 2017.  The Golden Gate no longer has any dining options.

They decided to add more gaming.  This new space has more slot machines and high limit gaming, including table games and slots.  They added approx. 60 new gaming devices. They also relocated the Casino Cashiers Cage.  It is now near the Hotel front desk.

The Golden Gate was the first hotel in Las Vegas and it opened in 1906.  Former names were Hotel Nevada and Sal Sagev (Las Vegas spelled backwards).  The Golden Gate is owned by Greg and Derek Stevens, who also own The D Hotel & Casino and the property across Fremont Street, where they plan to build a new 777 room Resort.

This is a developing story.  Check back on VegasChanges.com for updates.
