The D Las Vegas is a hotel and casino in Downtown Las Vegas on the Fremont Street Experience. It opened in 1980 as the Sundance Hotel and Casino and in 1987 it was re-branded Fitzgerald’s.

In 2012 Derek Stevens and his brother Greg purchased the property, renaming it The “D”, which stands for downtown or Detroit, their hometown.

The hotel has 629 rooms and suites on 34 stories. All rooms come with upgraded bedding, HD TV and an array of Bath and Body Works products.

They have a fitness center that is open 24/7, small pool that is open seasonally and a gift shop. Tip: Hotel guests of The D receive two passes to visit Stadium Swim at Circa Resort & Casino (sister property).

They have 42,000 square-feet of gaming space on two floors with 900 slot and video poker machines. The casino pit features 22 table games, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and more. At night, the casino pit has dancing dealers.

On the second floor they have High Limit Slots, Live Keno and a very nice Circa Sports Book. They also have a Sigma Derby horse racing game. Tip: The D Las Vegas is the last casino in Nevada to have the Sigma Derby horse racing game.

They use the Club One loyalty card that can also be used at Circa Resort & Casino and the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.

Tip: Be sure to see the Blarney Stone on the second floor that is a holdover from the Fitzgerald’s. (See photo below).

Fun Fact: The Manneken Pis is a bronze replica of a mischievous little boy “taking a leak” at the main entrance of The D Las Vegas. Manneken Pis, which is Flemish for “little man pee,” has thick curly locks, surprisingly sculpted abs and chubby thighs. The original dates back to the early 1600’s located in Brussels, Belgium. This is one of only three licensed replicas in the world, the others are in Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro. The fountain pays homage to The D’s owner Derek Stevens’ Belgian lineage. (See photo below).

Free self and valet parking is available to all hotel guests and if you gamble or dine. If not a hotel guest, check with the Club One desk for parking validation. RTC Bus Routes: DEUCE and CX
