South Point Hotel Casino & Spa is located off the Las Vegas Strip and it caters to Southern Nevada “locals”. It opened in 2005 as the South Coast and in 2006 it became the South Point. The hotel has 2,163 rooms and suites that were remodeled in 2019.
They have a very nice spa & salon, barbershop, business center, 24/7 fitness center and pool. The theme of the hotel casino is Southern California. It is located 8 miles from the center of the Las Vegas Strip and is owned by Michael Gaughan.
South Point has a 80,000 sq. ft. casino with more than 2,100 of the most popular slot and video poker machines. The casino pit features over 60 table games, including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Progressive Fortune Pai-Gow Poker, No Commission Baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold ’em and Three Card Poker with Progressive and Mississippi Stud.
They also have a 150-seat Race Book and separate 100+ seat Sports Book, 600-seat Bingo Hall and a 30 table non-smoking Poker Room that is open 24/7. They use THE CLUB players card.

For entertainment they have a 400-seat Showroom, Arena & Equestrian Center which features more than 1,200 climate-controlled stalls, 64-lane Bowling Center, 16-screen Century Movie Complex, Time-Out Arcade, and more.
Fun Fact: Michael’s Gourmet Room has two different menus. One for the ladies with no prices and another for men with prices.
