The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower was formerly called the Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower. It is located on the far north end of the Las Vegas Strip. Many people do not consider it “on” the Strip, but it is close. It is actually in Downtown Las Vegas.
It was formerly Bob Stupak’s Vegas World Casino which then became the Stratosphere in 1996. It was rebranded The STRAT in late 2018.
The 24-story hotel tower has 2,427 rooms and suites and is part of the Best Western Premier Collection. Many rooms received a complete renovation in 2020 and include a mini refrigerator, in-room safe and coffee maker.
The fitness center is open 24/7 and the Swim & Social pool was introduced in 2023. It is located on the 8th floor and features a full bar, restaurant, weekend DJs, poolside games, and stunning views. They also have a small arcade and several shops.
They have 80,000 square-feet of gaming space with 798 slot and video poker machines. The casino pit has 38 tables with the most popular games, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker, Texas Hold’em and more. Tip: They have single zero roulette and other player friendly casino games.
They also have High Limit gaming and a large William Hill Race & Sports Book. Their loyalty program is TRUE Rewards and are owned by Golden Entertainment.

There are thrill rides and an observation deck on the top of the tower. The thrill rides are Big Shot and X-Scream. Sky Jump is a thrill if you want to plunge 829-feet from the tower.
Atomic Golf is a premier golf entertainment destination that opened March 22, 2023. It offers an immersive, technology-enhanced experience through game play and entertainment. It spans nearly seven-acres, rises four stories and hosts 103 separate hitting bays. It also includes, six bars, dining, meeting space, and a 12,000-square-foot Astrocade.
The STRAT Theater seats 640 guests, and the L.A. Comedy Club has been serving tourists and locals since 2007. Shows are performed three times a night in the 270-seat Dragon Room, that opened in February 2022.
They have two wedding chapels that are located on SkyPod Level 103 for traditional ceremonies with a view. They also have 25,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and event space, including unique private venues more than 800 feet above the Strip.
Fun Fact: The Strat Tower is 1,149 feet tall – the tallest freestanding observation tower in the USA. It was originally envisioned to be 1,800 feet tall, but the Federal Aviation Administration would not approve that height.
Fun Fact 2: The Stratosphere’s original owner, Bob Stupak envisioned a King Kong thrill ride that would scale the exterior of the tower. The project was cancelled.
