[On May 15, 2024 it was announced that The Mirage Hotel & Casino will close on July 17, 2024. It will reopen as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel in late 2027]

The Mirage Resort & Casino is located in the “center” of the Las Vegas Strip. It features a South Pacific theme and it has 3,044 rooms and suites. Tip: While you’re checking-in, take a look at the 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium behind the front desk.

When the Mirage opened in 1989 it changed Las Vegas forever, becoming the largest hotel in the world (at the time). It was built by Steve Wynn and is now operated by Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

They have The Mirage Spa, large fitness center, business center and several stores. Tip: They have a very nice pool complex.

The Mirage casino has 100,000 square-feet of gaming space with many of the latest slot machines. They have a full casino pit with all the popular gaming options available, including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Baccarat, Let It Ride Poker, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and more.

They have a very nice BetMGM Race & Sports Book. The Poker Room was removed in August 2020. They use the Unity by Hard Rock loyalty card.

The Mirage has several bars and lounges, including the Rhumbar Tropical Ultra Lounge, Heritage Steak Lounge, OTORO Lounge, Stack Lounge, Sports Bar, Center Bar, Lobby Bar, Bare Pool Lounge and Parlor Lounge.

The Beatles Love by Cirque Du Soleil is performed in their own theater with 2,013 seats. The Mirage Theatre features different shows each week, including magic by Shin Lim, Center Stage Comedy and more. They have the Mirage Event Center and several ballrooms for meetings, conventions, weddings and other events.

Tip: The Mirage has a free Volcano Show in the front of the hotel. Shows are from 8pm to 11pm nightly at the top of each hour. A total of 120 FireShooters (cylinders that shoot fire) have been installed in the lagoon beneath the volcano’s main cone, with fire and water shooting 120 feet high.
